Round 2, Project #5: North Dakota, One Nation Walking Together

I have let this Blog go for quite some time because our charity group is mostly active on Ravelry.com, however, perhaps some of you are not active on Ravelry. I have decided to try to keep this Blog updated again with our projects each month.

We met our first goal of reaching all 50 states in July of 2014! We had a month of rest in August, and we began round 2 in September. We are now on projects 5 & 6. For round 2, we are still doing a new project each month, but we are making the projects run for 6 weeks instead of four, so there will always be two projects overlapping. As I can, I will also publish updates that are back dated to each of the previous projects that was not shared here. (This will include 39-51 of round one.)

So, for Project #5: This project is for North Dakota - One Nation Walking Together, and will run from January 1, 2015 to February 15, 2015. We will be making: Hats, mittens, cowls, shawls, blankets, and socks.

Fibers: Wool, acrylic, cotton, or other soft fibers. If wool, mark it as wool so if someone can’t wear wool, they will select something else. Also, washcloths and pot holders are happily accepted, as One Nation tries to pack some in every box of household goods that it sends. These items should be made of cotton .

The guidelines are: No solid bright red or blue as those are gang colors. Just add a stripe of a different color and then it will be fine. Also, NO OWL motifs as owls signify death in the Native culture.

Please tag your items with a Sharing Our Gifts tag so One Nation will know who sent these items and where to direct them.

Thank you for keeping the blog active. I'm on Ravelry but do not check as often as I should. My blog reader alerts me to any new posts so they are automatically seen as soon as they are posted.
